EDI statement
At the Teaching Awards Trust we’re on an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) journey.
We are working hard to improve recruitment of employees, judges and trustees and to build a team of people across the Trust who are representative of a diverse society.
We want everyone we work with to feel valued, appreciated, and free to be who they are.
The Teaching Awards Trust is committed to improving inclusivity across the Thank a Teacher, Pearson National Teaching Awards and Education Insights campaigns.
Our journey:
We have shown growth and commitment to our journey by:
- Providing training to our judges around inclusion and unconscious bias
- Providing staff training to develop skills and knowledge and within this, provided a space to share thoughts
- Assessing diversity of the judging panel and recruited accordingly, improving on representativeness
- Committing to the use of inclusive imagery and language across marketing campaigns
- Embarking on a project to improve accessibility and inclusion across our, making entering the awards and judging entries more accessible and inclusive
