PE teacher with brain tumour achieves ‘dream’ with triathlon medal – ‘live for today’ as ‘tomorrow is never promised’

In an extraordinary journey of resilience and determination, a woman overcame brain tumour and partial blindness to accomplish remarkable feats. With her indomitable spirit propelling her forward, she went on to represent her country at an international scale, winning awards.

Rachel Bown, a Physical Education (PE) teacher specialising in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), faced a life-altering experience when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour the size of a satsuma. The tumour caused her to loose vision in one eye and left her fearing for her life.
